ABSCy Crochet

ABSCy Crochet - A and B Sides Collide - represents the rigid demands of my life as they clash with the serene meditation of freeform crochet.

Crocheting is something I enjoy doing as it frees my mind from daily stress, it serves as a form of meditation, and it allows my creative expression. I mostly do freeform crochet which means I make it up as I go along without patterns. This is why each item is unique.

i learned to crochet in 2nd grade from the schoolyard aid at recess. Little does this woman know what impact she had on me as I have been crocheting for 44 years now.

In college, I crocheted beanies for the homeless in Berkeley because the days and nights were so cold. There was People’s Park, where I could leave them.

Now, I crochet for myself to relax my mind in creative energy and share with my family and friends.
